Brera 3.2 Q4 won't start, slowly becoming a nightmare
Hi, new to the forum so if I've done this wrong my apologies!
I've had my 07 Brera for nearly a year now and last week my first real issue occurred, I was coasting in gear in some slow moving traffic, the traffic eased and I accelerated, it was almost like a pop that I heard as I did this. The accelerator became comepletly unresponsive and the EML light flashed up, as soon as I came to a stop and pressed the clutch the engine cut out. Wouldn't fire up again, it turns over but will not start. I had it recovered to a garage near my work who have always been very good. They hooked it up to the diagnostics computer and it showed no faults from the ECU, they checked the fuel pumps, all seems to be working fine. It might be worth noting at this point that the week previous I had 6 plugs changed and 3 coil packs (not sure if that could cause this?) Anyway, they threw the towel in, said I should try a dealer as they may have a better diagnostics computer. Slightly aggrieved I decided instead to send the car to Alfatech in Huddersfield, but sadly they have come to the same conclusion, with a mention about fuel pressure. So I'm looking for advice, I'm tempted to try Turin motors in Leeds, or should I find a dealer and pay through the nose? Has anyone come across this problem themselves? Any information will be very much appreciated.
