ARB bush squeak?
since the cold weather started a few days ago, the 159 has started squeaking. i initially thought it was wishbone area, but after the wife has driven it today she says it has become worse and seems like its coming from the middle of the car.
i got ordered to take it out to see if it was going to 'fall to bits' (her words not mine) and also put some fuel in it
theres a nice road filled with speed humps on the way to the local Shell garage. sure enough it squeaking like a goodun.
only seems to be with low suspension speeds involved with speed humps and undulations of both wheels rather than divets or speed bumps/sleeping policemen involving one wheel. cornering doesnt seem to reproduce the behaviour and wiggling the steering is inconclusive really.
im thinking its ARB 'D-bushes' as it seems to be triggered when both sides of the car are doing the same thing and not really when cornering or riding over divets on one side and its in the middle of the car (middle being side to side not front to back, also low down at the front, where id expect to see ARB bushes) i'm hoping to have the inclination to spray them with some WD at some point this weekend just to see if i can get it to quieten down.
does anyone have any info/advice?
