I'll run you through where I was.
Pre remap and drilling, I'd had a service, an new EGR, cleaned the MAP sensor, throttle body, rpm sensor and ran some of that Wynns proffessional cleaner through the system.
Then, against the advice of Gus, I drilled my DPF out totally, fitted it back on and connected the sensors back up. it was about a week until I could get it up to Alfatune, so,pre remap, this is what I experienced.
Wife calls me from MacDonalds drive thru, car is stationary and chucking masses of smoke out, new burger is introduced ' the regen deluxe burger'. Dash says anti pollution filter blocked.
Next I decide to unleash masses of smoke just when entering stop start traffic in St Albans, it's a lot of fun sitting there with everyone giving you dirty looks doing your best for Alfa PR. Again, anti pollution filter blocked.
This happened pretty much constantly, so I bought Fiat Multiscan and was able to trick the system by saying that I'd replaced the DPF. I don't know how long this would've lasted, but I got over 250 miles.
Apart form some smoke on cold start in the mornings, (which Diesel Rhino seems to prevent), and a bit of smoke when I really boot it, there's no issues.
In fact last weekend I took the rpm sensor out, it was as clean as a whistle, took the MaP sensor out, again, totally clean, that's from last clean over 2 years ago. I fancy taking the throttle body off, just to see if the manifold has done any self cleaning. So apart from me feeling a bit guilty about pollution, the remap clearly helps clean running.
