Crazed 159 Wiper Arm Replacement

In a moment of stupidity I was bending the wiper arm on my 159 away from the bonnet and I have managed to snap the wiper arm clean off about 2" above the bolt fitting.

On the 159 is it a case of removing the nut and prizing the wiper arm off the spindle to replace the whole arm?

Yes. But before replacing the arm with a new one and bending it, look at this thread...

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ng-itself.html (Brera wiper eating itself?)

The rubber bushes on the mounting points of the wiper mechanism are too soft, but it is easily fixed using some big washers under the bolt heads. After doing this the whole wiper assembly will be better aligned so that the blades will make better contact with the screen and the arms will not catch the bonnet edge.
