I used some cheap bars on my last saloon, Got from eBay,
Cant remember the make but they were cheap.
They had the clamps which fit inside the door openings and the pads that fit onto the roof (probably like most other clamp on bars)
I never had any trouble even when carrying 2 kayaks ontop and a load of windbreaks.
(the Kayaks were over 20kg each)
Just tighten each clamp in turn and go round again a couple of times, If you can grip the end of a bar and swing on it without it moving you'll be fine.
I never drove slow, even at 70+ MPH I never had an issue.
(Thats a Lie, once I decided to nip up the A55 to Holyhead with just 1 kayak on but forgot to strap it down (I had slotted it over the Kayak bars on the roof bars) at 50mph it decided to act more like a wing than a kayak and it took off, flew (tumbled) for a few hundred yards then came to rest in the middle of the dual carriageway. Nothing damaged, just a few scratches on the kayak, but if there had been any other traffic around (Or a motorbike following) It could have been very different..... I was very lucky)
The bars were great, you just have to make sure they are fitted properly each time you put them on.
