Well they do all have to meet a certain standard with regards to stopping the car.
I think pads have to be +/-15% of the originals in terms of stopping power.
Of course if you currently have a pad which is 15% better than standard and you swap for one 15% worse you are going to notice a big difference.
I have been running the Pagid pads on a few cars, and for road/fast road use they are perfect. Quiet, not much dust, last a long time and the car stops quickly and reliably.
Ferodo's are good as well, but personally I don't like EBC much.
You will never be cool driving a Vauxhall.
