niggly little bits
2.4 159 Saloon here,
after using her over the weekend, found a couple of niggly little bits with the ol' girl. Nothing too big just figured it'd be nice to have 'em working properly.
1) Folding mirrors only fold half way in on the button. It's like they're trying to fully fold in but something is stopping them. They fold in perfectly by hand, but when cycling the operation from the button on the 3rd/4th attempt they stop working until i cycle the ignition.
2) Boot release button in the roof doesn't work. Searched forum and tried every combination of dash setting for Ind.Boot, Unlock FDA and Door Lock. Release from fob is fine, i don't believe it has the badge release... it doesnt feel like it and its an early model (20 Oct '06 build date). also im lead to believe the boot lid should open on the gas struts, theres plenty of power in them but it doesnt open once released from the fob.
2a) interior lights... sometimes passenger map light comes on when pressing centre button. had an issue like this on the Stilo i used to have and i ended up cleaning the rubber buttons and PCB of the light unit and it fixed it. thinking this MIGHT be the cause of the boot release issue too.
3) only have one fob that seems to struggle to allow Dead lock activation. Unlock (door and boot) and lock works, but its very difficult to get the remote to react to a double press for dead lock, indicated by the flashing of the indicators. will eventually do it after mashing the buttons for a while... might also need clearing out. is there a way to split the casing of the key?
4) Intermittent Reverse Sensor operation. in a nutshell it wont work from 'cold' generally, I have to drive long enough to get her upto temp before they work, its an inexact science though. when putting in reverse beeper will either work as expected or just emit a stable tone. like there's something close behind it. sensors audiably click when listening closely, no warning on dash, no obstructions/frost/water/steam from exhaust.
think thats about it for now, any input warmly recieved. will obviously find more because its a fiat.
