Brera Seats Quest
As some of you know, Brera seats, especially the original ones aren't that sporty. Many faults lie in them, such as the very poor lateral support, the creacking base problem, the rocking base problem etc etc.
It's been a year since I have my Brera and I looked everywhere for replacement seats, including finding a later model interior (but the base problems would very much exist there as well). I've tried many aftermarket seats, including OMP's, Sparco's and some Recaro models. I've seen seats from Evos, Type R's etc, I was even offered carbon seats from a Porsche GT2 (they were light as a feather but expensive as well).
In the end, out of sheer luck and the good help of a friend that knew a friend, I was offered Recaro Sportster CS seats out of a Corsa VXR for a price I couldn't refuse. Colour was a matching black leather with grey cloth that's very close to the whole Brera interior.
Bought the seats, went for installing and what do you know, seat bases are almost the same between the two cars.
We just removed the rail guides from the Brera seats, installed them on the Recaros and voila!!! It's done. I was prepared for a world of pain, but it as easy as that.
Only remaining problem is that Alfa uses a three wire airbag plug whilst Opel a two pin. Have to go to a car electrician to put an adapter in between.
