Getting AUX music into 159 head unit
I just recently became a first time Alfa Romeo owner - a 2006 159. Boy, she is a looker and fun to drive.
I have it booked in for a little ECU mods - get the peak horse power up to 200.
The car also came with an after market Bury Bluetooth phone system. it does not play music though, even though it controls my phone and LOOKS like it is playing music.
A lot of stuffing around on the internet and this forum has shown me that a lot of people have had issues with getting AUX into their Blaupunkt head units and people have tried new cables here and brought stuff off amazon there, and not seemed to have much success.
My headunit has 'CD' , 'CD CHANGER' and 'AUX' as potential outputs. when I select AUX I get noise suggestive of an empty input. However when I look at the back of the head unit there isn't any aux input points. I see where the CD changer plugs in, but no easily identifiable slots for AUX.
My plan therefore is to chuck a double throw manual switch into the CD change stereo line. I'll bring the Bluetooth aux output onto one side of the switch, the CD changer on the other and the common heading to the head unit. So I flick the switch one way and my cd changer works, if I flick it the other way I'll have my aux input.
I will use a 3 pole (well 4 actually) switch as i'll need to kill the cd changer 'data' wire to the head unit as well.
Going to give this a go this weekend. If anyone has tried a similar thing or had success running a CD CHANGER AND AN AUX INPUT, please let me know.
