Derestricting the throttle body

Has anyone tried this on thier alfa?

DIY Modifying the stock Throttle body for more air flow

I think the guy in the link took off a little too much from the shaft, i'd much rather leave it a bit thicker, especially where the threads for the butterfly screws are! The honda shaft was fairly thin from factory, i think it would be benficial to get the alfa shaft at least as thin as honda oem.

I really like the nice venturi shape he made on the throttle opening, if he was a little less agressive with the file and spent some more time sanding it might have looked perfect.
There is also a step in this picture of a v6 throttle body! It would be a little tricky but smoothing that out would help airflow

There is also mention of the need to calibrate the tps on the honda, i think the alfa 159's are all fly by wire, does it ever need to be calibrated?

Here's another way of reducing the flow restriction of the throttle body shaft, you could even go further and making the remaining half of the shaft thinner if you dare!

Combined with a better exhaust and a remap, this should make a nice improovement to power, response, and sound. It should also improove how quickly 159's can empty their fuel tanks
