Dpf and warning lights
The engine management / check engine message appeared and I started to see lots of greyish blue smoke out of the exhaust when putting my foot down and a smaller puff of the same each time I changed gears.
Also had the heater plugs unavailable appear at the same time.
Called out the AA who plugged in their laptop and told me the DPF was 71% clogged / code P1206 and also the code for the heater plugs - but cant remember what it was.
He also noted that the DPF had been doing a regen every 210 miles but hadn't done one for over 350 miles and this was the reason for the check engine message. He looked a bit more and noted the oil quality level was only 9% and an immediate oil change was required.
He said the reason a regen had not taken place was that there was a fault logged on the system and the 159 will not regen if any fault at all is logged.
Took the car to the garage and they replaced the heater plug control unit / plugs and a full oil service, deleted the faults and told me to give the car a good run to initiate a regen.
On the way home got another warning light this time telling me the front left light was faulty and the corresponding icon appeared on the dash. All lights are working fine.
Does this mean the car will not regen as I took it for a good drive following all the advice I have read on this forum - no regen !!!
