Heated screen / demister buttons
I bought a 2009 159 TI and in my excitement to test drive it, I neglected to test all the electrical functions :-O
So the front and rear demister / heated screen buttons do not light up when pressed, with or without air con on and there's no sign that they're heating up either.
There's no relay click, no sign of life at all. The air con works just fine, the recirculation button does what it's supposed to, so it seems to just be these two buttons from the panel.
I've done a continuity test on fuses F20, F41, F49, and every other large ampere fuse in the dashboard fusebox, all seem good. Interestingly, the manual doesn't seem to specify a fuse for the front heated screen at all, see attached images. And the typos do make you wonder if anyone proofed it before it went to print.
I'm reminded of May's review of a Mazer: "ah.. 'ere, 'ere is ok.".
Can anyone suggest another avenue to test? Are the relays likely to be faulty? Any reasonably accessible places I could test for correct voltages?
Obviously I could bring it to an Alfa specialist, and there is one pretty close, but fancy myself as a have-a-go-hero, so I want to eliminate anything easy I could potentially do myself before I empty my wallet pre-christmas.
