Thanks for the feedback all.
As has been stated, I went straight and bought a set of bulbs for £20 and fitted them. Outrageous price £60 for two bulbs to be fit. However, the main beam is mis-aligned, slightly off-centre to the right of the drivers side, and also left headlamp is brighter than the right, not sure why exactly, possibly something masking from inside the light cover?
Does anyone know the process of re-aligning the lights, this was added as an 'amber' condition on the MOT document.
I would like to go for the Eibach springs but as mentioned above, Eibach springs plus dampers is pretty pricey, £600-£800, so I may just opt for two standard OEM springs at £30 each. I'm going to take the motor to a local independent and have him install the springs and if I can't do it, re-align the lights and do another MOT.
Glad it's only springs and lights giving me grief atm, I know it could have been alot costlier.
P.s to RXE; I'm on a limited milage policy with Tesco atm, 6k miles, £1250 a year 23 y/o, I'm definitely not complaining
To David C; I checked a newly fitted Halogen next to the old bulb that failed, and it was indeed a greeny-orange hue, very strange but it was giving off poor light, I have been driving like this for two months but I simply thought this was the standard power of these stock bulbs. Where like candles compared to what I have in now. I didn't replace the main or dipped headlamps though.
