I'm toying with the idea of selling my 159 while it's still worth something in the lovely condition that it's in!

However, I guess because of the lack of new Alfas in the current range, used prices are holding well with Giulietta and later 159 models.

I like to normally buy my cars out right which means my budget is slightly less. Looking at around the £5k mark. However, there really isn't anything out there, not just in the Alfa world but with other marques too (dare I say it!).

Looks like I'll be holding on to the 159 for a bit longer than I'd like to because there really isn't anything out there and it seems silly to borrow ££££s just to get a newer car with less mileage! The Giulietta is the obvious choice as I need something reasonably spacious.

It's a bit of a dilemmas - what to do!?

Know exactly where you're coming from ... fast approaching 90k now in my Brera, Wife has a Giulietta company car (would i buy one ... probably not) ... had a 156 V6 S3 ... had a GT, not totally impressed with the look of the alfa giulia (may change when i see one in the flesh) ... so for now i'll keep enjoying the 70 mile daily commute with a smile on my face (and dazzling audi drivers with my Halo's lol)

Some Giuliettas are approaching the £5k mark now, but for what it's worth, I wouldn't go for one of the older, higher mileage ones personally.

I previously owned a Giulietta 2.0Jtdm 170, sold it with around 40k on the clock iirc. By that time it had developed a couple of little niggles, the most annoying of which being the almost constant vibration of the dashboard fascia (I believe a lot of people have experienced this). On the plus side, the engine was sweet and felt very smooth, it was generally quite a cheap car to run and served me well over a number of long journeys through France. I'd have to go for a facelift version if I were to have another though.

Totally feel you. I'm 26 and since I got my driving licence I had 7 different cars, 9 months after buying one I would get bored with it. I have my 159 for over 2 years now just because it's too damn good for what I've payed for it and no matter how hard I try, I can't find anything better for that price to suit me. Two years later I still look behind after parking it
