New Spider air conditioning

Has anyone had issues with the air conditioning on a spider turning itself on automatically when the unit is turned off?

Re: New Spider air conditioning

On my 99 GTV the aircon turns its self on automatically when the cabin gets hotter than set by the heat dial. If I then switch it off it stays of until the ignition is cut. Then you start the cycle again.

This is normal as far as I know......Please tell me so!

Yes, same in the 159.

I keep on turning the aircon and the internal air recirc off. Eventually it gets the idea and stays off.

As soon as it rains however, the aircon comes on automatically to keep the windows clear - a nice touch.

Re: New Spider air conditioning

The air con works like a charm in my new Spider.

It turns itself on to clear the windows in the morning. If the car is cold it takes a few minutes before it kicks in. Looking forward to see how it works when it is getting really cold outside. I am hopping it will not take too long before it kicks in the morning.

When it was really hot and the hood was down it also worked like a charm. A cold breeze down on my feet kept me in a good mood.

Mine is on "Full Auto" all the time. But it bugs me that I have to reset it to "Full Auto" every time the hood have been down.

Alfa Spider, 3.2 JTS, Carbonio Black, Red Leader, all options...

My air con keeps turning itself on on my spider.

I switch it off then take the key out. I put the key back in and hey presto my AC turns on by itself - why?

im not sure why it keeps turning itself on - is there a button that I can use to switch it off permanently?

Im curious more than anything. Spent an hour trying to switch it off to no avail.

Im not sure if it is fitted on the Spider, but if you have the climate pack you get an anti mist sensor, and if it detects that your windscreen has misted up will override the aircon settings to demist the windscreen. As far as I'm aware you cant turn it off.
