I have a 159 s/w 2.4 ti . I love the car to bits but the steering is starting to cause concerns .
I recently had a rear puncture had new tyre and all 4 wheel alignment carried out . felt a lot better in the handling and cornering department . the car now track very well with loads of grip and stability .
the problem that has been there since buying the car in june this year is a bit of vague ness in the steering ( tyre pressures all ok tread levels ok )
driving at anything over 50 mph in a straight line the car seems to float slightly and a bit vague , where the the car will drift off line .
it seems that I have to constantly correct my line , on a long journey it gets very tiring .
one more thing the steering feels quite heavy compared to other vehicles I have driven recently , when I bought the car I just put this down to the width of the tyres ( 235 ,s ) and the nature of the beast !!
I bought the car from an alfa specialist but its 200 miles from home so taking it back is an issue ,but I have just bought a 12 month rac gold warranty .
anybody any ideas , I have read other threads but none appear to have the same symptoms
car is an ,08 with 81k on the clock with full service history from very reputable alfa speciaalists
