Well here I am 9 months later and my 2.4 JTDm is no more
Why? Well as I have stated in another thread:http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/gener...6-help-me.html (Help Me!!!!)
I needed to down size and save some money. With the rising cost of fuel, tax (or will it
) and everything else plus my uncertain employment situation plus the fact that despite two small children I really don't need an SW I decided to part with my bella.
I look at other cars - a 147 Q2, great fun but too small, a Seat Leon, fine but sadly not Alfa enough for me and finally a 159 1.9 JTDm saloon. I picked up the 159 saloon yesterday and I am happy I have made the right decision
(I'll add a review soon).
So final thoughts on my 2.4 JTDm SW. Where to start.............
Visually it is a beautiful car, I loved the Titanio grigio, the alloy roof bars and my 19'' Ti alloys
Inside the black leather is still like new. There is only one rattle in the car - B-pillar trim which Fraser says is the door seal so nothing to worry about - all-in-all the car was well screwed together and virtually faultless inside. Paint work is scratch and dent free
One rear alloy is kerbed
Seats weren't ever really to my liking - the ones on my 'new' 159 are much more comfortable?
Beautiful car inside and out
Faults mechanically while I had it - nothing except a P2013 diagnosed by the AA while I was in some bl00dy service station and NOT ON THE FERRY TO IRELAND
(more of this on another thread) - result - a new turbo inlet manifold and a week in the dealers
need I ay more. 31.6 over 9 months of ownership is poor. Yes I know it is a 2.4 but even still mid 30's should have been achievable. On longer runs it could do it but on weekly commutes it was disappointing - perhaps I should have moved further away from work
The car was comfortable, fast
, plenty of torque, sounded gorgeous on throttle and looked the business. Plenty of room for 4 and lots of boot space.
I'll miss the extra storage comparments in the boot, the twin chrome tail pipes, the sound, the torque and the big brakes and my 19'' alloys.
So a fantastic car which has brought a smile to my face (mostly) and I have enjoyed owning.
