Well what an anticlimax! The hose replacement went fine and my local Alfa dealer Desira in Bury got me the hose pretty much overnight from Italy. The cold start lumpyness has completely gone however even after cleaning the MAF the idle when its warm and the EML flashing still remain!
When I unplug the MAF the car behaves slightly better on idle but misfires and hesitates badly from 1500 - 2000 revs. This does do this occasionally with the MAF plugged in (general jts hesitation ?) Its so annoying, if i give it some revs its perfect, to the point that when the fan kicks in the slight increase in revs is enough to stop it misfiring! If i could could just tweak the idle up like the good old days I'm sure I'd be happy!
After talking to alfaworkshop they seem to think its an injector and suggested removing them myself and having them cleaned and tested, sound advice but I cant be without a car so that isn't really an option.
On this advice I'm now fairly shy to going to spend money on a MAF, plugs and air filter for it to be an injector all along. Id rather leave it a month let it annoy me enough until I'm willing to throw some money at it and leave it to the experts.
Anyone had an injector/s replaced, what was the cost?
Will still be keeping an eye on the battery its at 13.05 volts as I've left it so it does drop overnight will if it drops off a lot maybe giving me an indication its knackered.
I love this car but after spending a lot of my money to buy it and having shelled out for one repair if i have to pay out a lot again for all this then I might of well got an S!
Nitrous tell me about your car a problem shared and all !
