Many thanks everybody, I am happy I went for this one. I won't be driving it properly for a while, however it is nice just to have it and it also gives me the time to essentially prepare and get the main things I want to do on it so that it will run nice.
It has just over 20600 miles on it which for how often I will be using it is ideal really. I got it from Second City Motors/LoveAlfa in Birmingham. I do worry about buying experiences, however this was a positive experience for me. The RAM needed replacing which they told me about and they replaced it before it was driven over/delivered to me, so respect for that as many a place could have just lied and not said anything. The guys there also know their Alfas, you could talk all day about them there! I even got given a lift back to the train station when I had agreed to buy it and put my deposit down last Friday, in a nice 159 1.75 TBi. I've got to say while the 1.75 engine wouldn't suit me for what I want, it is a very good engine and drives very well, so I see why many have a liking to this engine.
I also tested a red one with more mileage, however that one wasn't as nice, mainly condition wise, I know there are nice higher mileage examples (my Giulietta I had was very good for 59k miles on the clock when bought), however I got the sense that whoever had this one before didn't take much care of it inside.
I did notice the tyre pressures were very low when I got it, I've just not long ago pumped them up and the difference is noticeable, even though all I can do right now is move it around the drive it feels loads more like how it should be. Being a heavier car though, it is a much different dynamic to get used to compared to my MiTo!
Oh yeah, I love just sitting in it gazing at the center console, truly a work of art in my view.
Remap, foam airfilter: job jobbed.
Also: Autosol those tailpipes.
Thanks! Yeah, those tailpipes need doing. I'll get round to cleaning those soon.
I am one of those who has the first gear hesitation on mine. AutoDelta is quite far away from me, however I am planning to get the AD air filter and use good fuel with it, which should hopefully make things for the most part ok. Can I just confirm this one
is the right one? It mentions it is for a Brera but I'd imagine it would work for the Spider variant too.
