159 2.4 clutch change method

Hey guys

Doing my clutch and flywheel on thursday. I also got a crankshaft seal to do at the same time just in case it's going bad, as I figured it would all be in pieces and easy to change without much extra labour.

The mechanic tells me it'd be an extra 9hrs labour to take out the gearbox and do the seal, which makes me think he must be pulling the engine to do the clutch (as learn suggests).

Most of what I read is suggesting pulling off the subframe and removing the gearbox, is that the best way? And would this then mean being abel to easily change the crank seal?
