Whether you buy a 2.2, a 3.2 or a 2.4 diesel each has its problems. A dog of a 2.2 will always be trouble, a well cared for 3.2 could well be a peach, you have to assess each car you view carefully. The one thing for certain is a positive, you will be driving what is still one of the best looking (affordable) cars on 4 wheels.
However, it does not matter what car you buy unless it has peddles you need to budget for ongoing running cost to keep it in its prime. Timing chains, timing belts, EGR's DPF's, clutches, servicing all cost money. dc said "second time it was sorted properly by Autolusso", there is a moral there!
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
