2.4 working fine.. now won't start
Help and advice required.
Car was working fine yesterday today won't start.
To start with ignition came on fine pressed the starter key and promptly started to try and start but wouldn't. Sounded like possible flat battery. Arranged to jump start car connected up samething won't start. So left jump leads connected to charge battery a few minutes charging from the other car tried to start again.. nothing. Disconnect jump leads as they were getting very hot, went and connected EcuScan to the car.. no errors other than the EGR warning one that has been there for a while as I use two partial blanking gaskets. Disconnect computer after checking battery was holding almost 11 volts. Turn on ignition again this time dash starts flashing followed by pretty much every warning thats possible flashes up on the digi display.. airbag, hill holder, anti pollution etc etc like the ECU is running a check. Stops doing this so remove the key and start again. Insert key dash flashes try and start again and sounds like the starter motor is stuck, but the dash dims out totally while its trying to start. Doesn't start but then the warnings flash up like before. Go to remove the key won't release so had to push the starter again to release it.
1, Boot would not open on key fob, nor the relase button despite the central locking opening all doors. Had to use the key.
2, Fuel guage even after the key had been removed still stayed at the tank fill level and moved jerkily to the fill level.
3, Climate system switched on each time I inserted the key to a preset level I don't use despite being off last.
Help is apprecited !!
