Fuel Pump Removed - Timing Marks?

Hello All,

My mechanic removed my fuel pump to remove the intake manifold on my 2.4 JTDm.

At the same time we decided to change the cambelt and waterpump. The cams were locked in place with a proper locking too. With the fuel pump disconnected, the mechanic tried to loosen the bolts on the crank pulley - but this caused the toothed cog behind the pulley to slip 1 notch on the timing belt - because the the fuel pump was removed, the belt was slack.

He managed to then rotate the pulley back 1 notch to where he thinks it was but we need to know if its possible this could have done any damage?

Thanks in advance.

Fuel pump is not timed.
Are you using locking tools? My belt was done before by previous owners mechanic friend - and it was out when i changed it last week...
They are only 16 on ebay, not the best, but does the job.
Have fun.
Are blanking swirlflaps? Done mine and first time i saw 65MPG, usually in that same strech - the best 45MPG.

Common rail pumps doesn't need a specific mark, but if there is a mark would I follow it.. Feels better mentally!

common rail fuel pumps are just a contant pump, they are not timed with the engine. there shouldnt have been any damage done. the water pump isnt timed either.

only the camshaft and the crankshaft are timed, and these will have markings on them.
