Brera 2.4 jtdm turbo removal

Evening everyone, tomorrow, 1 of two things will happen. Either I will remove the turbo and send it off for a rebuild with a grin on my face and a beer in each hand, or I will drive it off the nearest cliff.

I will attempt to do a "How to" as I am yet to find any kind of instruction (probably because it doesn't look to difficult) time permitting.

A heads up on any potenial issues or difficulties I may run into would be great, if anyone could be so kind.

Had a look around turbo - looks really tight. Good luck.

If it's anything like the 1.9 you will need deep sockets,

Other than that straightforward.

Good luck,

I know you pain about fix it or drive it off a cliff.....

Find a local roundabout with stupid lane markings (Lostock Circle near the Trafford Centre for me)
and drive round and round till someone hits you (nobody ever did :-( )

good luck I've done a turbo removal / replacement (twice) on my 2.0. Slightly different set-up on the 2.0 from the 1.9 but the 2.0 was fairly easy for a home mechanic like me. Its best practise to also replacement gaskets, oil feed pipes, copper washers etc when removing / replacing turbo. I also replaced the studs holding the turbo for piece of mind.
