So I've had my 159 back for a week now after the DPF was refitted and now it's acting up.
On the way home yesterday as I pulled round a corner and put my foot down I felt the turbo start to spool up then it just stopped at around 0,5/0,6 and wouldn't go past so I had no power at all. If I pull over and turn it off and on again the power is back, but only for 10 minutes or so.
It will slowly trundle up to 3k revs and I can go up a gear and then up to 3k again, but only on a flat. The turbo bar just sits under 0,5. On the way home today I had to pull over and restart as it just couldn't make it up a hill. It feels worse than the 1 litre corsa courtesy car I had
Anyway, took it to Evans Burnley this morning for a 15 minute check over and whilst he confirmed there's a fault he said it's not the turbo itself, so I think that's good news. So it's going back to Leeds tomorrow morning hopefully once the recovery guy has taken a look.
Burnley suggested a possible split pipe but I'm not convinced given it corrects itself for 10 minutes after a switch off/on, surely more likely electrical?
I keep telling myself the time it was in the garage it wasn't broken so this second time isn't a sign of the famous Alfa reliability, can anyone reassure me though please!!
Forgot to mention there's been no warning lights of any sort on the dash, just happens out of the blue
