Crankshaft/rod bearing.

Need some help please!

Due to a broken oil sensor, an oil leak and my own apathy a situation has arisen where my 159 2.2jts has spun a crankshaft to rod bearing.

General opinion from they guys who have helped me by finding the fault is that just replacing the bearing may lead to the same happening again very shortly due to possible wear on the crankshaft..... would you agree with this or would a new and hence thicker bearing than the one that spun be likely to last some time?

No idea where I could get a new crankshaft/rod as I cant find one listed anywhere and I have been unable to find an engine to swap either. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I sell the car for spares?

This car has cost me a lot of money and I'm getting a little tense about it lol.

You cant just replace the bearing, if its spun in the rod then the crank will probably be scored but might be saveable with a regrind depending on the extent of the damage but the rod will probably be scrap.
I would look for a good used engine, they are prety reliable so not very sought after so will probably be cheaper than rebuilding your engine.
