Hmmm Brera key EJECTED

My first glitch in 3 months - city centre in stop go traffic and the key blob thing (what a daft piece of design, heavier than a key and even stupider than a Renault style keyless credit card ) projectile vomits out of its hole and disappears down the side of the driver's seat next to the transmission tunnel. Engine stays on, radio turns off, driver gets surprise (as does driver behind when I brake...)
Any one also experience this? Does this mean one can remove the blob after starting and replace in pocket?:

Re: Brera key EJECTED

Normally there is a catch which locks
it in the slot. Maybe this is broken?

Yep, it should lock and stay locked until you press the start/stop button again.
