I love my 159Ti, I really do. But if I'm honest, it's all about the looks and design. As a car, it's pretty compromised. Too heavy, uninspiring engines, excessive fuel consumption etc. It wasn't really a class-leader in anything. Apart from looks :-)
The CEO has to talk the talk, because it's been decades since Alfa came up with anything that could take on and beat allcomers. Even the 4C falls short, sadly, although it's a huge step back in the right direction. He has to beat the "we are aware, we have changed, turned the page" drum. It's his job.
I have to say, I'm worried about the Giulia. I really want it to do well, but the game has moved on so far now that I suspect that at best it'll be "almost up there" with the Germans. A bit like an Italian Infiniti or Lexus, or Jaguar. Still, my fingers are crossed... :-)
