2010 Spider hood problem - flap motors?
I've purchased my first Alfa 3 weeks ago after being a dedicated BMW owner for years.
My alfa is a 2010 Brera Spider, 2.2L...
Since I've purchased the car I have had several - non consistent - problems with the hood.
Many times, the hood get stuck (in non constant step of the opening/closing of it), and i need to leave the switch and press again - or in different times to reverse the process a bit and start again.
These are manageable, but the main issue i'm trying to resolve it that once in every 3-4 times, when closing the hood, at the stage of the speedster cover closing - after it closes 90%, it get stuck and I get "temporary hood failure" message. even if I reopen and try to redo the process - it get stuck at the same point.
Leaving the car for 10 minutes, coming back and trying again - works and it continues the process.
I took the car to the dealer and they said I have to replace the 2 flap motors - which sounds odd to me as its the end of cycle of the flap motors and the stage that they need no force anymore.
I've tried the emergency cable method - didn't help (even went back to the pump and pushed the trigger manually to verify).
The fluid level is at half way of the reservoir which seems fairly alike other people who posted here.
Can it be an alignment problem or something else or should replacing the flap motors resolve this?
