I feel your pain SpiderSaint, they're a bleeding nuisance.
Are we talking about just a slight gap on the driver's side at the rear?
Mine's had this to a varying extent more or less since day one. No water gets in though.
£500 rams all sounds a bit drastic.
I'd attempt to get other specialists opinions, if such people can be found, and in the north west it's a struggle...
Surely all it needs is a bit of 'cajoling', or maybe a few blows with a blunt instrument...
You are right that strangely no water has got in except when I have been a bit over keen with the hose pipe when washing but it looks as though it should get in and thats my worry.
The big concern here is that Alfa cant get parts, ok so maybe we can find them elsewhere so all's not lost but you would surely expect a main dealer to be able to find a part on a 7 year old car, one thats young enough to have a Fiat warranty taken out on it.
Its in the back of my mind that just maybe (Mr Cynical here) it could have been under warranty.... had they been available.... I was told on the phone that if it was a part it was covered but as the paperwork isnt at all clear the easy way out is what I got, it was hands up and fcuk all to do with us.
I did look at doing a few adjustments myself after reading Fitz's post a while back but decided it was best left to the pro's as the chances were that I'd make it worse, looks like I might have to go down that root.
If only a few of us lived closer together, many heads etc.
On another note and just to make us feel a bit better, Meridien had exactly the same spec and colour Spider as mine on the forecourt, the same 2008 LE model for.....wait for it......ok so low milage of 12K on the clock but not perfect, in fact in exactly the same condition as mine for.....here we go....£5 short of £18k
