A few questions from a new 159 owner
After a 6-month wait, finally took delivery of my 159 3.2 Q4, one of the first to arrive here in Hong Kong.
Only done about 500km, but like the car very much so far. Very different car from my previous 156 V6, but still very much an Alfa.
Have a few questions and will appreciate any feedback or advices:
1) The car comes with the rain sensor as standard, and it's been an absolute joke - going into fast wipes with just droplets of rain, and taking long lunch break when the sky opens up! Is it possible to disconnect the rain sensor and just revert to good old-fashioned manual intermittent? Thought about pulling the rain sensor fuse out but not sure if there's any side-effect;
2) The standard (non-Bose) sound system is ok, but doesn't work well with the i-pod, so thinking about changing to an after-market system. Pretty much set on the JVC KW-AVX800 which will accept the full array of USB, SD and i-Pod input. Only question is whether it will work with the steering wheel audio control. The JVC manual says the unit is "steering wheel remote ready" but gives no further info. If anyone has experience with wiring up the steering wheel control, will very much appreciate your advice!
3) My car also has a pretty pronounced boom when the car is cruising on steady throttle around 2500rpm. It's just an engine droon that is quite annoying and only goes away after 3000rpm. Could be something that will go away after the engine's been run-in and has some miles under it, but just want to see if anyone else has similar experience.
Otherwise, am quite happy with the car, a few niggles and rattles here and there but will get the dealer to sort things out.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!
