Alfa Spider 2008 Hood Not Working!
Its pretty clear that this is a very common problem with these cars....I am running out of ideas and any help would be really appreciated.
For a few months on and off I had a temporary roof failure warning pop up half way through the cycle (point at with the hood starts to fold down). After pressing the button a few times it would then continue the cycle. Now I cant get it to work at any point. It broke since being stood for a couple of months in the winter. The temporary rood failure warning comes up every time try.
Took it to Alfa, they said the pump and ECU are both knackered and I just dont believe them. Sent the ECU of to 'ECU Testing' and they came back to me with the all clear. I took the motor out the pump and fired it up...it runs strong at 3V with load applied. Ive tested resistance and fired up the three solenoids, all fine. Ive tested resistance accross all cables to the pump itself, all fine.
Now the only point of the cycle that runs is the windows dropping at the very beginning of the cycle then up pops the error. I have had the windows drop by themselves interrmitantly during the night....could it be a sensor fault with the window? Ive taken the door panel off, found the controller, not sure where the sensor is? Im concerned Im chasing my own tail but really dont want to go back to Alfa. Therefore any suggestions would be fantastic. Does anyone know an Alfa Hood Guru?
