Ah, I thought the ECU might automatically remap depending on the fuel used. Is that wrong?
Engines with knock sensor can do it to compensate variations in fuel quality. You can fill in RON95 but due to poor manufacturing it might be 94 octane. Or in emergency you can fill in 91 octane. In this case the ECU can compensate by changing ignition advance. But it is usually not programmed to use higher octane and most ECUs will use the same ignition advance for 95+ as for 95.
You will not get any power gain with "premium" petrol without ECU remap, but it is proved that fuels like V-power have cleaning effect on the engine. They can clean carbon deposits from your valve seats for example....
