Calling all 1.9 JTDM owners, preferably Ti

Really need sum pointers, advice, and information on the 1.9 JTDM. I'm trying to compare it to the 2.4 as I know a fair bit about that one.

Same issues with EGR & DPF? Water pump and cambelt too?
Performance differences.
Things to look for buying second 60k mileage upwards.

Thanks guys

24JTDM should be only TI with.
It is not good idea to carry this crude iron lump with straw springs.

Engines are identical... The 2.4 lump comes with an extra cylinder. 1.9 comes with m32 gearbox which can suffer from oil starvation but many owners report no issues on high milers.

The 2.4 is just over a second quicker to 60 but feels faster through the gears and pulls like a locomotive.
It also sounds a bit nicer being a 5pot. The downsides are its not very economical and a little too nose heavy compaired to the 1.9.

Despite a bullet proof engine in the 1.9 it does suffer swirl flap issues and gearbox/clutch issues. But if you can find one thats had these issues resolved and a cambelt, waterpump change then go for it.

The 2.0 is basically a much improved reworked 1.9 with all issues addressed, if your budget will stretch a little further, Id go for the 2.0, (but avoid the 138hp version!).
