Millers EcoMax - petrol
Seen as snake oil by many, I continued putting Millers EcoMax (petrol version) into both my Brera and wifes Spider(both 2.2 JTS) after always putting the diesel version in the 1.9Jtdm 159 when I had it. I did this with little regard as to whether it did any real good or not.
Recently it occurred to me that the fuel consumption on my Brera was poo, I could not make 400 miles out of a tank, 380 if lucky, whilst wife was having no trouble. My driving style or journeys had not changed.
I realised after the last bottle of the Millers had run out I had not bothered buying any more, that is until just before the last tank refill which I dosed with a new bottle of Millers EcoMax. The result, back to over 400 miles from the tank.
Snake oil or not and this test is quite unscientific, an extra 30 or 40 miles out of a tank of fuel for around £1.20 is proof enough to me it works.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
