Q-tronic vs Manual: How is your idle?
Hello to all,
Since I bought my car (2007 159 2.4 Q-tronic used but with low mileage) I've felt that engine vibration when idling in Drive was very present in the cabin.
I always associate this to the fact that the car had only done city miles, therefore EGR, DPF, injectors and manifold swirl valves had been checked and corrected/deactivated...
After all this I continued to feel the engine vibration when idling (mostly in D and when hot, since when cold it could be normal) so I began to think that it's more like a caractheristic than a defect.
But then I drove a manual 159 2.4, with the same engine and year (but with the double of the mileage), and I was astonished with the lack of vibrations even when cold. Since then this has been knocking in my head and I really want to track this down, because I drive a lot in the city , and it's where it is felt more.
I have to say that, apart from idle, the engine run absolutely smooth and normal. Even in idle the rpm and the sound of the engine are stable and normal.
Do you people with Q-tronic feel this? Have you compared with manual?
I don't want to begin to waste money on engine/box mounts, if in the end everything stays the same...
