My New Brera
Apologies if this is a unusual thing to do but I bought my first Brera this afternoon and had an extremely pleasant hour long drive home. It's a 2007 2.2 JTS SV and only 48k miles which is great,
Sadly though, having got home, my check engine light has appeared which has me a little frightened and annoyed. I checked the car before buying as best I could (VIN, Engine number, MOT and service history, running temperatures, no knocking sounds, no warning lights) and got it for £500 under asking due to some small cosmetic scratches. I can't hear anything wrong with the engine, it has a slight whine at the low range of the revs but to me just sounds like standard engine noise, I've never owned an Alfa or engine bigger than a 1.8 though so can't be sure.
I hear the timing chain gives off a pretty obvious power variation and noise? Could it be a stretched chain? In people's experience what sort of problem may pop up from this warning light considering I can't find anything wrong with the thing! (In my amateur opinion).
Thanks in anticipation for your thoughts
