My conclusion was the camber angle was out after a suspenion change, causing stress to be put upon the upper arm bushes, or the balljoint, which in turn caused that annoying clunk/pop/thud/bang noise.
But that was just my conclusion, because i got no other answers from anyone, and i had my car looked at by 5 different garages. No play in anything, nor could the noise be replicated on a ramp
In the end i changed the upper arm bushes for Powerflex adjustable ones, just to try and fix the camber angle out, as it's none adjustable as standard. Since replacing just the upper arm bushes, & fixing the camber angle. The noise stopped.
And i had a brand new suspension like yourself.
One to thing to think about at least. Mine was more noticeable on the drivers upper arm area
Edit. Reading more into your second post, i'd replace the track rod ends first. I did that already with mine, at the sametime as the rack-ends & droplinks. Before Powerflexing the upper arms
