Re: New 159, problems or 'they all do that sir..'
From a painting point of view...ask them how they are going to do it .... (I learnt so much when I wasn't happy with a paint job on a car).
to remove the orange peel....they will more than likely try polishing it out....if that fails they will probably try "flatting" the paint using very light sand paper...then polish it out.
If they try painting it ....this is where you should ask a million questions...
How are they going to prep the car? (are they going to flat the whole panel off and spray? or just spray a laquer coat over the top (this will affect the paint reflects).
Due to the way painting works....they need to finish off on a panel crease somewhere (as the paint has a very small edge)...found out where this edge will end...and whether you are happy with that.
As the car is so new, there shouldnt be a massive problem with colour match (but every new batch of the same paint, will be slightly different).
Also the direction in which they spray the car will make the metallic sparkles reflect to a different level.
.......I remember seeing some brand new GT's at a dealer a couple of years ago (black) and the orange peel was dreadful....I asked if they had been accident damaged!...and had the reply "no they are all like that"
