Well my computer tends to read between 0.6 and 2 mpgs higher than actual, so that is within 2% to 8% of the actual figure. I note the petrol guage is MUCH more steady and easy to read.
By the way, got stuck away from home without a petrol station the other day and the gauge went right down to total zero for the first time! Filled the 70 litre tank right to the brim, it took 64 litres of fuel, indicating that there was at least 6 litres reserve when the gauge read empty. I'll not risk it again, I usually fill up as soon as the light goes on (at about 58 litres used), but it is reassuring to know that there was that much fuel left on an "empty" tank.
