Re: Brera MPG
This is a hoary old thread isn't it?
Here's some observations I have made whilst commuting over the past few weeks.
With 3,500miles on the clock, the discrepancy between the trip computer Vs. actual fuel consumption is about 2.13%. That means it's pretty good. Over this period I have attained an average of 21mpg.
On an almost completely flat motorway - in cruise - at 80mph, the trip computer reports 22.2mpg. As road undulates upward it drops to 22.0, on the gentle downhill slopes it creeps up to 22.4.
On the same motorway, in cruise at 50mph, the mpg it reports is about 30mpg.
So, on the mpg issue I'd conclude that it is indeed lower than advertised, but only about 10-15% and, were I a bit less leaden footed I am sure I could do better!
Final point. In cruise in fourth at 30mph, whilst going round some hilly residential roads, the speed, on the downhills creeps up 17% to 35mph. Consequently I am fairly certain the brakes are not used to maintain the cruising speed.
