Well it's been 2 weeks since the car was at Autolusso for the full frontal treatment
and I guess I've put about 800 miles on the clock since then. The car had an upper wishbone replaced by Veloces before I got it (pattern part) and I got Autolusso to fit the other one that I'd bought on eBay (genuine Alfa) at the same time as all the bushes. Ned now has an even worse example of how destroyed the large lower bushes can get to show potential customers!
So, no more unpleasant knocking noises, steering no longer has any vagueness about it and no odd steering inputs needed when applying the power or lifting off. No squeaks from the bushes either, they were well greased when fitted.
Whilst the car was in some additional work was done to cure some heavy smoking under load, that's fixed now as is a slightly leaky glow plug. The EGR has been blanked now and the map updated which was annoying as it was something that Veloces were supposed to have done before I collected the car......
The car is definitely better now but does feel slightly down on torque (unless that's me getting used to it although a drag with a 1.9 Vectra makes me think it is down some!).
I also picked up a piece of roof trim so that I can cure the poor radio reception when I dismantle and clean up the aerial. The trim clips look like the sort my ham fists will break when I remove the trim!
Poly bushes are definitely recommended!
