So following on from a previous thread where I asked for opinions on Prodrives and dealers. Tuesday night I signed the paperwork and took ownership of AlfaAid's black example.
Julian drove a hard bargain, but clearly I was an open book in 'wanting what I wanted'.
So no.116 is now mine.
A slightly nervy 30 mile driveback home in the dark, combined with laugh out loud moments when i gave the engine a longer leash on the M4.
On paper this is slower than my previous Volvo, in reality the flexability of the engine 'hides' that very well, pulling strongly at any point whereas before I had turbo lag.
My car history isn't all that, enjoyed some sporty Hondas, a Scooby and wonderful 2 years with a well sorted 944 turbo, but I can't for the life of me feel the nose heaviness people talk about with the V6, it handles superbly!
The car is as immaculate as the advert would have you believe, I'm now only really having to re-adjust my universe to her appetite for unleaded....yeesh...
Other than that it was even valeted to a very high standard so very little for me to do apart from enjoy her and let her improve the image of our postcode
I have a feeling this is the start of a long loving relationship
The Pioneer Avic D3 thing seems ok, will do for a while
I have 2 appointments with trimmers to look at the roof.
Super paranoid about dings, scrapes, scratches and alloy scuffing but I'll get used to it all.
She looks even better for being parked next to our dark silver Guiletta.
Will update as and when.
