159 1.9JDTm Oil change warning message

Does anyone have a simple explanation of how to turn off the service message "Change Oil" ?
I gather it relates to the quality of the oil and shows a flashing oilcan in the bottom left of the display.
I looked in the forums but cannot find how to this delete/change/zero information.
I have just changed the oil and filter - 7500 miles since previous oil (Mobil 1 diesel 0-W40) and filter change 6 months ago. Although I keep notes of all my home servicing it is annoying to get this message each time I drive!

My car is a 2009 159 1.9 JDTm (150bhp) Sportwagon Lusso, just coming up to 30k miles which I have had for 9 months. (I know... - I was very lucky to get a genuine low mileage model!)

You should reset regeneration counter by Ecuscan together with oil change.
Miss to do ECU sees oil unchanged.
A lot of info about it here.

You need the paid for version of multi scan 50 euro's and a compatible elm327 cable, about 15.

Where abouts in the uk are you.

Can I ask, is this just an automatic warning connected to service intervals or does it mean there's a problem?
I had a full oil change/flush and filter 2 months ago and got the warning this morning.

This message is not connected with service interval directly.
Diesals creates regenerations to clean DPF.
Real quantity of regenerations produced are counted by ECU and depends on real use of the car. As soon as quantity of regenerations counted touch ECU pattern you would get this message. If you change oil two months ago no real need to change it again. You have to clean counter to zero. Next time you need to change oil do this procedure together irrespectively you have message or not.
