engine codes... loads of them !!

first post on here, so Hi !
had the brakes done 4 moths back no problems until 2 days ago...
engine management light came on, borrowed a tester and 5 ( five ) engine codes came on! also in the info panel by the clocks getting messages that hill holder not available, glow plugs not available, car protection system failure, ABS system failure, VDC system failure.
The engine codes are: PO683, P0504, P0180, P0380, C1800,
I've looked these codes up and know what they mean, what I don't know is why are they all coming on at the same time, brake related I guess, worrying me !!
Any suggestions, all welcome,
forgot to mention: Alfa 159 jtdm lusso.

Yeh, it's a common problem, when the battery starts going you can get loads of spurious codes. Time to order a new battery. Test it first of course.

Any spelling/ grammatical errors are purely there to annoy!

I get the same messages on really cold days right after first startup. Huge voltage drop (during cranking ->dying battery) triggers these codes. Mines aren't permanent, they go away immediately.

Had me worried the first time it happened, got used to it now. Every time I get to Halford's its tested and ok (still got some time left on the warrantee),
