Upgrade front shocks only - Viable?

Hi folks,

I'm willing to upgrade my front suspension (2.4 Lusso) because I feel it a little too much uncontrolled, with excess of nose diving and lateral movement.

I'm satisfied with rear height and behave...

Do you think it's viable to change only the front shocks with new Bilstein B6s, or that would leave the car completly unbalanced?

I've seen some reviews of people having diferente sets of shocks between front and rear, with good results, but I don't know the reliability of that information.

Thank you in advance.

I'm changing the fronts only in my 156 sportwagon to Koni FSD's with standard springs as I have self levelling suspension at the back.

Should still help the horriffic v6 nose diving under heavy breaking and be more controlled on the corners.

I'm looking to have B6 all the way around with standard springs on my Spider. I heard good things from this Alfa Platform and other cars, not sure about mixing them. I have read other people have done though.
