It certainly is a small world, lovely car and I too nearly bought it but it was just the wrong time. I know the subsequent owner went mad and stripped it down (why?) doing a massive futher resto on it, you may have seen the thread on Fiat Coupe Forum. Your work was excellent on it and as I said it was by far the best FC I've driven or seen even including much lower mileage cars.
Think you did the right thing buying an integrale though, notwithstanding the excellent driving experience they are (hate to use these words) a sound investment. I still regret not buying a year or 2 old Evo when I had the money and circumstances to, Mrs Wal said no to a LHD car so that was that.
Wish you luck with your car and at least living in Hertfordshire (I work in Stevenage during the week) you have at least 2 really good garages that could sort the car out, my car incidentally came from the same source as yours. I've found the TBi a slow burner to really appreciate but a few thousand miles down the line I love it, so glad I went for the 1750 engine.
