Just an update…
Unfortunately I didn't get the time to go to Autolusso as yet.
But in the interim I looked online if there was a DPF cleaner… I never believed in additives until Redex Diesel fuel system treatment helped with my rough idle.
I'm still skeptical if they all work, but I decided to try some Wynns DPF cleaner (just add a bottle to 40 liters of fuel).
I was on a trip down to Yorkshire to visit my mom for mother's day over the weekend. It's a 240 mile trip each way.
I started with around 40 liters, put a bottle in the tank and hit the motorway. I kept roughly at 2250 RPM in 6th (78mph GPS speed) for most of the way. By half way I noticed a big difference!
The car was revving more freely and didn't seem to suffer nearly as much.
Over the weekend I used the 40 liters and put another 40 in for the trip back. I got another bottle from Halfords quickly and added it in.
I'm not sure if I needed 2 bottles but what the heck. For £20 it's worth it.
I'm now back in sunny Scotland and I'll tell you that the car is like a different machine! It's much much faster and is barely suffering any lag.
I suppose it could still be better but it's performing as I would expect a 210hp to perform with the weight.
It just keeps going and it pulls very nicely especially from 2nd onwards (occasionally with wheel spin)!
Anyway, it's good to know that this product helps! There's a link below to it on Halfords and you can get it on Amazon for £8.69 delivered (slightly cheaper).
I'm not sure if it's a permanent fix, but it sure as well has helped a ton! I will still consider stripping out the DPF and removing the EGR but for anyone looking to keep their DPF clean this product has certainly helped mine!
Here it is on Halfords:
Try it! It's worked for me so far
