Brera V6 parts from America???
I have a persistant water leak at the top of my engine. I am sure that it is related to the rubber seals at one or both ends of the block. One end seals the various parts of the thermostat and the other seals the aluminium manifold that links the waterways of the heads together.
The seals for these components seem to be impossible to source. Main agents want to sell me a complete stat housing or a complete manifold, both costing hundreds of pounds.
I am about to go on a business trip to America and was wondering if I could get the seals from a Cheverolet dealer? I believe that the Alloytec V6 is used in the 2005 Cadilac CTS and the 2012 Camero. Obviously it is a different engine internally but I can't believe that they have changed the stat housing and the link manifold and to that end the rubbers should be the same as the Brera V6?
Has anybody attempted this and what were the results? Has anybody got the GM part numbers that I will need? Anybody know a web site that might have the information?
Failing that, it's going to be an interesting conversation, going into an American GM parts store and starting with "I have this Alfa Brera..."
