Good afternoon to you all!
I have a potential problem with my 2008 Alfa 159 1.9JTDM, 69,000 miles, un-modified and almost never used for local or urban journies; I always drive with a light throttle until the water temperature moves from the 60 degree mark. Recently, from cold, and in any gear, there is significant hesitation on acceleration. The revs pick up very slowly, despite significant pressure on the accelerator, and the turbo gauge doesn't move past 0.2 bar. Eventually, at about 2,250 rpm, the turbo kicks in and the car surges away. Once it has completely warmed up the hesitation disappears and the car behaves normally for the rest of the day.
The problem first occurred at the end of January (the car hadn't been used since just before Christmas) and has become more noticeable.
Before I take the car to my local specialist (or the main dealer in Teesside) for the codes to be read, I'd be grateful for any any thoughts that you might have on the source of the problem.
Thanks and regards
